HELPING PARENTS THROUGH PLAY THERAPY

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

This workshop for beginning to intermediate level play therapists will discuss and demonstrate various playful interventions that clinicians can teach to parents in order to address different behavioral and other challenges children and families face.  Interventions will include helping with time management, sibling rivalry, behavior charts/tracking, and focusing on the positive.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

- Learn at least 5 different ways to help children understand time.

- Learn at least 5 different ways to implement positive reinforcement behavior charts/tracking.

-  Learn at least 5 different ways to help parents enhance their relationship with their children.

Continuing Education

Continuing education credit for these events is co-sponsored by Michigan Play Therapy Training Academy   and  The Institute for Continuing Education.   The programs offer 2.00 - 6.00  contact hours, depending on the schedule.     Full   attendance is  required.   The CE processing fee is $25.00 per event.    Application forms  will be available on site.      Continuing education verification is  mailed to participants following the training.   If you have   questions regarding continuing education, learning objectives, agenda, grievance issues please contact  The Institute at: instconted@aol.com.     

 

Psychology:  The Institute for Continuing Education is an organization approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor  continuing education for psychologists.  The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

 

Counseling / MFT:    The Institute for Continuing Education is an approved continuing education provider by the Ohio Board Counseling, Social Work, and MFT, Provider No. RCS 03001 /  MFT Provider RTS 100501.

NOTE:  NBCC credit is not offered for the monthly workshop events.  

NOTE:  The Institute for Continuing Education will make a co-sponsorship application to NBCC for the Summer Camp Training.

 

Social Work:  The Institute for Continuing Education is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), though the  Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program.  The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for the program.   ASWB Provider No. 1007.     Licensed social workers should contact their individual state jurisdiction to review current continuing education requirements for license renewal.    Ohio Counselor and Social Work Provider No. RCS 030001.

 

 Play Therapy:   The Institute for Continuing Education is  approved by the Association for Play Therapy to sponsor continuing education specific to play therapy.  The Institute maintains responsibility for the program.  APT Approved Provider  98-040.
